Travel Through Time and the Stories of America’s Heartland
Experience the world of Wisconsin’s early immigrants at Old World Wisconsin. Step into the daily lives of the people who called this world home as you help with chores and cooking, try your hand at crafts and trades, and play – yes, even the grown-ups! Lend a hand in the blacksmith shop, say hi to the farm animals, look at veggies in the gardens, dye and spin wool, knead bread, collect chicken eggs, try on wooden shoes, ride high-wheel tricycles, and sample tasty beer in the Brewhouse. This is where history comes alive!

I’m sorry you can’t be open year round. I just love walking around and exploring. Our favorite thing to do is walk on the trails through the woods.
Enjoyed our time today learning about OWW sausage making the Scandinavian way! Next up for us is Legends and Lore!

What a great night! The weather was perfect, the food OUTSTANDING (thank you Chef Nick Katona for sharing your talent and truly delicious food with all of us), the Lakefront beers were terrific and the atmosphere was a wonderful celebration of Old World Wisconsin and Oktoberfest. Prost!
This event at Old World Wisconsin was such a wonderful time. We had a tasty 5 course meal of German food. The atmosphere in the barn felt so homey, especially with traditional German music played on the accordion. Thank you to Sherry and Jerry Janiszewski who told us about this event and helped host. We would totally recommend it to others. Such fun!!!
A night to remember. Amazing German cuisine with each course carefully paired with a Lakefront beer, lively German music, and even some dancing, plus a toast and a joke?! with each course by MC Jerry. Prost!
Happy the Hodag is BACK for another year of fun at Legends and Lore!
We are proud that Legends and Lore, sponsored by the Old World Foundation and WaterStone Bank, is a very kids friendly event and a fantastic way to celebrate spooky season with the little ones. Every story is labeled prior to entering so grown ups can be aware of what might be too scary for the family!
