APPRENTICE PROGRAMS

Be more than a guest. Be an Apprentice.
If you love Old World Wisconsin, being an Apprentice is the next step in your adventure. Our programs take you from being a fan of history, to being part of the story. Experiences range from one day programs for adults, to a summer long College Preparatory Volunteer Program for teens.
As we continue to develop our programs, please check back for more dates and experiences!

Apprentice Camp
For Future Historians entering 8-12th grade in Fall 2018
Campers will spend four full days as part of our Old World Wisconsin Guest Experience Team. Dressed in historic clothes they will learn techniques and facilitation skills while being responsible for helping our guests get hands-on with history. From school teacher, to blacksmith, to baker, our Campers learn side by side with staff to see what it takes to bring history to life. Click here to learn more.

Apprentice Facilitators
Apprentice Facilitators are part of a summer long college preparatory volunteer program that lets Future Historians take the reins and bring history to life for our guests. Apprentices must apply by April 6, 2018 for this selective program. Successful completion of the four-day Apprentice Camp is preferred, but not required. Click here to learn more.

Apprentice for a Day
Did you ever wish you could step back in time? Today is the day. Our Apprentice for a Day program is a chance for guests 18 and over to try their hand at historic skills alongside professional staff in the beautiful setting of Old World Wisconsin. Click here to learn more.

One Day Summer Camps
In order to devote our time and resources to this and other new educational program development, we are placing our other one-day summer camp programs on hold in 2018.
We are so thankful for all of the families who have made our camps popular for over 15 years. All of the feedback you’ve shared is critical to our re-envisioning what a hands-on minds-on camp at Old World Wisconsin can look like. We invite you to stay tuned for updates on our 2019 programs, and encourage you to continue to share your love for Old World Wisconsin by visiting us in 2018 during public hours. Your favorite spaces, places, and faces will be here waiting for you and ready to let you travel in time with your entire family.
