Clausing Barn Restaurant's lower level offers cafeteria-style dining
For your convenience, we offer rustic, cafeteria-style dining in the lower level and the garden patio of the octagonal Clausing Barn.
On the Menu
Choose from brats and burgers to veggie wraps and panini sandwiches, knowing it's all made on site with fresh ingredients and creative, tasty combinations. Many items come with your choice of fries, chips or coleslaw on the side.
Kids will enjoy our chicken strips, grilled cheese sandwiches and hot dogs. And don't forget dessert! Homemade strudels, breads, cookies and sweet treats are baked fresh every day, without preservatives, just like in the 1800s.
The upper loft of Clausing Barn Restaurant is available for your party
Create Your Own Picnic
If you'd rather eat outdoors instead of in the restaurant, we'll be happy to pack your food to go. If you picnic on museum grounds,
we ask that you don't take food into the buildings. Please put any garbage into trashcans.
Facility Rental and Catering
The Clausing Barn is available for rental for your next party or banquet. From on-site catering, group tours, large or small corporate events and weddings, we do it all! For more information on facilities, reservations and on-site catering menus, visit our Groups, Facility Rental and Catering page.
History of Clausing Barn
The barn was built in 1897 in Mequon (Ozaukee County) by German barn builder Ernst Clausing. Though Clausing built many octagonal barns, the barn that bears his name at Old World Wisconsin is among the few that survive.
