Summer Dinner Theater: 'Paragon Springs'
Friday, August 19, 2011 - Sunday, August 21, 2011 Friday and Saturday, Aug 19–20, at 7 pm, Sunday, Aug 21, at 5 pm
Slip away into a 1920s rural speakeasy for some clandestine liquid refreshment, appetizers served by waiters in period attire, and a delicious, themed dinner before you view the drama of "Paragon Springs" by acclaimed playwright Steven Dietz. Make sure you remember the secret password in order to enter the barn! After dinner, stroll outdoors to the historic Caldwell Farmers' Club Hall, where the drama unfolds. The famed "healing waters" of Paragon Springs have been mysteriously poisoned, and the town's foremost citizen is determined to reveal the truth, no matter the cost. Set in 1926 southeast Wisconsin, it is, "an inspired reworking of 'An Enemy of the People,' ... not just vivid, compelling and filled with complex characters — it is also eerily prophetic," according to a review in the Chicago Sun-Times. Arrive 10–15 minutes early as the buffet opens promptly at the reservation time. Reservations required.
$60 per person (adults), $50 per child (17 and under). All new, more comfortable seating for the 2011 season.
