Book Signing with Kathleeen Ernst, Author of 'Old World Murder'
Saturday, October 23, 2010 1-5:30 pm
If you like murder mysteries with a historical twist, be sure to stop by the museum store on this fall Saturday to meet Kathleen Ernst, former Old World Wisconsin curator and author of "Old World Murder." Having worked at this outdoor museum as a curator for 12 years in the 1980s and early '90s, Ernst chose the museum as the setting for her first adult mystery, introducing the character of Chloe Ellefson whose first day on the job as Old World Wisconsin's curator of collections finds her embroiled in the search for a stolen artifact and the mysterious sudden death of an elderly woman who had donated the artifact to the museum years earlier. Copies of "Old World Murder" will be available for purchase, and Ernst will sign copies during her first author appearance at the site that helped inspire the book's plot line.
Museum admission: adults $16; children (5-17) $9 (children under 5 are free); students and senior citizens (65 and over) $14; family (two adults and two or more dependent children 5-17) $43. Fees include an all-day tram transportation pass.
Venue: Old World Wisconsin
Old World Wisconsin documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
