Autumn on the Farms
Saturday, October 06, 2012 - Sunday, October 07, 2012 10 am–5 pm Saturday, 11 am–5 pm Sunday
Join us as we bring in the season's harvest and button up the farmsteads for winter with a full slate of autumn activities in the farmhouses and farmyards. We'll be cooking over wood stoves and open fires, putting garden produce into crocks and jars for the winter, filling the larder with dried foods, making soap, and using smaller hit-and-miss engines to help do things like bale hay and shuck corn. There's much to do and many ways for you to help. Arrive early or come both weekends (also offered October 13–14) as some activities change. This is one of our most popular events.
In addition, here are a few of the special activities offered only this weekend:
Adults $16; children (5-17) $9 (children under 5 are free); students and senior citizens (65 and over) $14; family (two adults and two or more dependent children 5-17) $43. Fees include an all-day tram transportation pass.
Venue: Old World Wisconsin
Old World Wisconsin documents the settlement of 19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin. It comprises an 1870s crossroads village and 10 ethnic farmsteads located on 576 acres of wooded hills in the Southern Unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest.
