Be a Civil War soldier in camp!

  • Single-day Session:

  • Wednesday, July 19
  • Friday, July 21
  • Monday, July 31

Mark the century and a half since the start of the Civil War by learning more about what a soldier's life was like. You'll march and make camp just like Civil War soldiers.

Dress in a Civil War jacket and hat, cook bacon and taste hardtack, learn a drill that soldiers did using Civil War "dummy" guns, and even pick up some Civil War slang. Follow along as a Civil War re-enactor takes you on a search for Confederate soldiers hiding out at one of the farms at Old World Wisconsin. Boys AND girls welcome!

  • Sessions run from 8:30 am to 3 pm
  • Pick-up and drop-off in the Norwegian area parking lot

    • Cost: $50 per single-day session
    • Grades: Entering grades 5–7

    Parents and Campers Say:

"He loved the battle simulation with the fake guns. The reenactor knew a lot about the Civil War!"

"We were very satisfied. She said foraging and fighting were her top favorite activities at camp. She really appreciated the reenactor involvement. She loved it and would like to do it again."

"He talked my ear off the entire ride home. The drills and battles were most noted."

"I liked the battle at the farm and cooking bacon over the fire."
